You’re welcome to visit Hopscotch with your child at any time, no appointment is necessary. Please feel free to come and look around before enrolling your child. We’re open from 8am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday. We close on public holidays and for two weeks at Christmas.
If you’d like information about availability or you’re interested in enrolling, please complete the enquiry form below and we’ll contact you as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can call or email us – please see our Contact Us page for our details.
After a place has been confirmed, Hopscotch recommends that children attend for at least three visits before the booking starts. The parent or caregiver will be asked to remain with their child on these visits and stay for approximately one hour. Parents are invited to leave their child for a short period on a third or fourth visit. Hopscotch aims to find out more about your child on these visits – what interests them, what they like to do and what may concern them.
Hopscotch provides a nurturing and caring environment. Children are settled into a variety of activities and are encouraged to participate in play, and introduced to other children. We encourage parents to telephone the centre if they wish to find out how their child is. If your child is unsettled for a prolonged period, we will contact you and talk about what to do.
20 Hours Early Childhood Education (ECE)
All three- and four-year-olds at Hopscotch can get up to six hours a day and up to 20 hours per week of early childhood education with no compulsory fees. If your child does not start school when he/she turns five, they can continue to be eligible for 20 Hours ECE for up to 28 calendar days after their fifth birthday. The hours are also available to five-year-olds with special education needs who are on a formal transition-to-school plan. For more information, please go to the 20 Hours ECE link at the bottom of this page.
We have different rates for children under two years and over two years, as well as capped rates for children who attend full-time. Childcare subsidies are also available through Work and Income New Zealand – click on the link to WINZ below for more information. Please contact us for our latest Fees Policy.
